Both vocal and orchestral applications are now being accepted online for the 2013 Festival Season. The deadline for vocal applications is November 1st, 2012.

The deadline for orchestral applications has been extended to March 8th, 2013

Please read the following instructions before clicking the link at the bottom of this page to begin your application.

A $35 non-refundable application fee is required of all applicants EXCEPT those who were a part of the Ohio Light Opera during the 2012 Festival Season, and Students, Faculty, and Staff of the College of Wooster. You will not be able to submit your online application without paying the required application fee online.

Vocal Applicants - Applicants are selected for the live-audition based on the online application. Please be prepared to upload your resume and headshot as part of the application process. Not all applicants will be selected for the live auditions. As part of the application you will have the opportunity to upload audio or video recordings to aid in the pre-screening process. It is highly recommended that all applicants who have not previously performed with The Ohio Light Opera upload at least two pieces (one in English) as part of the online application. The application deadline is November 1st, 2012 and applicants can expect to hear about the status of their application beginning two weeks after submission and not later than the second week of November.

Orchestral Applicants - The Ohio Light Opera orchestra auditions for Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion and Harp are conducted based on recorded material uploaded as part of the online application. Please be prepared to upload a required resume; submission of a headshot is optional, but encouraged. As part of the application you will be asked to supply the name and email address of three people who can complete a short recommendation form. After you submit your application we will contact your recommenders directly for their feedback. Their responses will become part of your application. You must upload recordings as part of your application. We are not able to consider orchestral applicants who do not upload the required recordings online. Uploaded recordings should include the exposition from a concerto and two contrasting orchestral excerpts of your choice. The application is available now and the deadline is February 22, 2013. Since hiring decisions are made based solely upon the online application, while we encourage early submission, please allow us ample time to make decisions in reference to the entire applicant pool. We expect to begin notifying orchestral applicants about the status of their application in mid-March, 2013.
